front License plates.....in NJ

i got puller over for no front plate but i have a police report saying my car was Vandalized and when it was in the shop i got a new front bumper with no mouting bracket for the plates.. so its not like im going to drill trew the bumper to put it on for the time being ...
i will fight it in court but does any one know a website where i can get the nj law for front plates i know it says something about it being 12 inches from the ground and it has to be in the front but nothing says it cant be in the Windshield. so if anyone can link me to the NJ law Statue for front plates that would be great info to bring to court

No, it's not an underground law. It is classified as unclear plates. You need to have one in the front and one in the rear at all times.

Well your argument will fly like a lead balloon in court. That is such a terrible idea if you ask me. I want you to tell me how you plan on convincing the judge that you weren't breaking the law? Regardless have fun and lighten up, I mean it's only a $50 ticket at most. Just my .02, not like that matters when you have the intelligence of a 3 yr old....

If anything, write them a letter. They will probably fall out of the chair when they try to read what you wrote.

Dimitri that is not the point the point is if he goes in with a police report saying his car got vandalized and needed to be repainted there is a slight chance that he might not have to pay anything more then the 33$ court cost, which is stupid by him to not just pay for the damn 52$ ticket

Congradulations! Were you trying to make my point sound more valid, or debating? I believe you just confused yourself. In the event that the court agrees with Moses's idea he might just save himself $19. If you think about it, he would also probably loose one days pay along with 1/2 a tank of gas, which would be completely burned from his vehicle.

In the end is it really worth it? Couldn't those long lost hours be spent on the computer researching for the new 'volume' of hooked on phonics? My vote goes to him learning how to read and write first.

Thanks for your extensive research Suvaoosh, it's greatly appreciated. I too found the link, but I felt it was up to the person who needed the additional help on spelling to perform the search.

it has to be on the outer most part of the car. hence it can not be in the window. i've looked at the law before and it states something along the lines of that. you won't win, unclear is unclear.

Yeah, I have no front plate on the car, it's sitting on my passenger seat all banged up from my accident with no way to mount it to the bumper and I still got a unclear plate summons...I paid the damm'd $56 and ordered $50 custom plates.

Just gotta deal with it and keep driving.
