They do look under the car so i would put the cat in or weld a cat heatsheild onto you exhaust for a fake out.

Do ya think the way my car looks might make them curious about what's (not)underneath?

I've got until June of 2007 to worry about passing emissions. Hoping my friend will just pass me at his garage. If worse comes to worse I will either find someone with a stock 2002 to plug into the ODBII for me, or I will bolt on a stock exhaust for the day.

shhh. YOU PM people about that, not just blurt it out. If someone from the MVC is looking into illegal inspection stickers and the like, you just gave them the address to your house. Not saying it is happening, but it could.

I've lived in NJ almost all my life....and they never look UNDER the car....I don't know where some people are getting that from....none of the inspection stations I ever went to did.

*Edit* And yet I find myself wondering now....I think I might slightly recall little mirrors on a stick that they use....? lol

What part of NJ R U in? Maybe your DMV doesn't but I know from personal experience the one in Cherry Hill and Deptford does.
