a memorial car project

This journal is of a memorial project car Im doing in dedication to my mother who passed away last june.the last year has been difficult ,but as time goes things have gotten easy.The car will be completed by the huge OCMD weekend in the beginning of June, a couple of days after my moms 1 year of her unexpected passing.May we all be blessed with those that are here with us.one day they may not be with us so may we cherish the time while we are still here.

I previously had this from the time I drove it out the dealership brand new till august of last year when I made my final payment.I sold the car in September of last year to my coworker who gave the car to his son.I was planning to keep it and do a new suspension setup and wheels but didnt happen



so I took over the ownership of my moms 2005 1.8 after she passed away suddenly last june. this was a hard decision to keep my car and sell hers or keep both but since insurance here in nj is like total hell, I decided to sell the silver car and go with the blue car instead.it was a hard time for me I can never imagine anyone being in my shoes going thru this so so sad



before I started the project one thing that was bothering me was the dent on the rear passenger side door. 2 years ago b4 my mom retired from her job,one of her co workers accidently hit the car while it was parked.it was never fixed so I found a door at a local junkyard and had it painted to match up with the car color

painted and dentless door installed. right after headed to PA to pick up a set of specs I found on craigslist and were in excellent condition.still debating on plastidipping them white






once my tax return came in started looking for suspension and found Tein Stech's and KYB shocks for a good price just keeping it simple



One a nice warm day I did some plastidipping,so I started with the grille and the rear license plate thingy



this came out real good I had to redo it since I oversprayed plus I masked the tape too close to where I sprayed so the dip was peeling off



last week I headed to staten island to pick up a set of continental contitrac's with 95% thread got all 4 tires for $250 retail they go for $140 a tire on tire rack



finally got the car lowered this past weekend,the ride is good with the teins I think better than my eibach's when I had my 06

the only 4 things I got left is to install the se-r heads when they come today,the mach 1 lip. in 2 weeks i'll get the rims and tires installed
