i have two noises that bother me on my 97 altima gxe one of them is a metallic pinging noise when the car is off after it has been ran and the other one is a metallic rattling noise when i hit the gas any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

The pinging noise is your heat shield and the rattling could be your hood rod

what can i do to keep the heat shield from pinging?

nothing really unless you remove them, the noise youre hearing is the sound of the metal contracting as it cools. that could also be your rattling noise if they are loose.
