Went on a trip to Socal... wallpaper content inside

Please share if you like what you see--I am a budding, hungry photographer and this trip has only made me want to work more with exotics, cars in general, and travel.

I'm putting together a little thread which will contain epic wallpapers for your consumption. I went on a trip to Newport Beach, CA from Feb 8 - 16th with my girlfriend and in that time span I went to cars and coffee in Irvine, spotted and shot pics of supercars, and went for a dream drive at 6:30am on a beautiful Valentine's day morning on the Malibu Nurburgring.

I also took many landscape shots using some new techniques which worked out decent. I'll use this as a little journal if you will.

To start, enjoy these three differently edited photos based on what I had to remove/lighting conditions/etc on each. I'll be following it up with two 458 italia spyder rolling shots.

Lastly, once I'm done editing I will have 1920 res wallpapers available and for those who might be interested in print, full rez on my smugmug. Enjoy!

Here's the route I drove, the Malibu Nuburgring. It was so stunning.... pics coming soon.

Not going to post all the images of the dream drive up but here's a summary. I woke up at the crack of 6am on Valentine's day at the Malibu Country Inn which is just north on the PCH from where I wanted to go.

From there I took the PCH south to Malibu Canyon Road (see above) north and then took a right on Piuma Rd. This goes up hill until you get to point C and the rest is down hill. I initially took Rambla Pacifico by accident and ended up getting back to PCH on Tuna Canyon Road which turned out more amazing than the actual ring.

I then went back to the hotel and packed up, we checked out and went up to Neptune's Net. What's that? See this vid. After we got our fill there I went back down and took the girlfriend for a second spin. The shots I've uploaded are just from my 5d so far. I still have many to edit from my A77 but this will give you a taste at least.

After we finished up there we headed down the 405 back to where we were staying. This adventure and drive though was probably the coolest thing I've ever done! Enjoy!

Link to my smugmug gallery with full rez pics can be found here. When you click a picture on the top you have size options. Clicking "O" gives you the original 1920x1200 picture.

EDIT: I've also added 64 pictures of the cars and coffee I went to in Irvine, CA.

Samples:

458 italia spyder taken w/ 5d2 / 18mm/3.5CZ (this one was chasing the mp4 from earlier). Yes it's bright I wanted that 458 to POP!

Thanks gents. I'm going to be creating a whole other album which will include just landscape shots. I of course hit up beaches and tons of other stuff in my journeys.

And here's the last update to the gallery which includes tons of scenic wallpapers for your viewing pleasure. Included are shots from Laguna beach, Santa Monica Pier/beach, Crystal Cove, and Malibu.

Once again, enjoy! The rest of the pictures are available in the gallery. There are many ;)
