NJ violation question

alright i was in AC today and i was trying to go to mc donalds.. i made the wrong turn and actually ended up in the parking lot next to it.. to get in the mc ds parking lot i had to make a left where there was a "no left turn" sign at.. i know its illeagle.. but the driveway was litterally 5 feet to the left and the road was 100 percent empty.. as soon as i pulled in the lot a cop was in the drive thru getting food i noticed this but parked my car and walked in the resturaunt figuring he did not see it .. about 1 min later the cop pulled up to my car got on the radio and started looking thru my windows he then drove off and waited across the street for 30 mins then came back INTO the resturaunt stood near the door for a good 5 mins then got back into his car parked next to my car and sat on his hood for another 10 or so minuites talking on the radio again and reading my plates.. he then left and i got back in my car and drove home..

sorry for the long explanation.. but i felt it was needed to explain the situation.. my question is is it possible for me to get a ticket in the mail, are officers aloud to act that way.. he said nothing to me but i felt harassed, also is waiting for someone to leave like he did a form of entrapment.. i know what i did was wrong but i want to know what i can do to protect my self since i felt like he was being a bit unprofessional

He can not write you a citation for the traffic violation because there is no way to prove it was you driving the vehicle at the time the offense took place. Unless he ended up talking to you and you openly admitted to the violation. ( At that point I personally wouldn't write it, but there are some out there that may )

As for peering into your windows, parking next to your vehicle, waiting across the street... There is nothing against doing that at all. Any "Joe Shmo" could do the same thing if they wanted to.

What would be the entrapment?? You already committed a traffic violation... He cannot write you for it without stopping you becasuse of the reason above.

Take a gander online and look up entrapment regarding to law.
