Woah buddy. We got NOTHING here near Bloomsburg other than a bit of wind. Crazy how the power of the storm diminished so much over that distance.

I watched CNN all day yesterday. It's crazy how bad NJ and NY got hit and flooded. I just lost electricity for 1.5 days in NE Philly by Franklin Mills Mall so I was lucky. But where I work in Warminster, PA, there are lots of fallen trees.

Sorry to hear about people who are suffering and/or sustained losses.

One glimmer of light is that Lucy (in Margate) made it through the storm.

My nephew, who frequents the Elk's Lodge in North Wildwood NJ and the Firehouse Tavern in Wildwood posted these pics:

NASA satellite photo of Sandy at about 11AM Monday:

At our home (Narberth in Montco) we really lucked out. No power outages, no floods, no trees down, no damage.

Thankfully my grandparents evacuated and moved inland on Sunday. Apparently we had about 2 feet of water in the house and garage. Roads on LBI are buckled, feet upon feet of sand on the Blvd, and yachts strewn everywhere. Sand dunes under beachfront homes completely washed away, bay to ocean is level-
I was planning on heading down this weekend with my father to clean up, guess that ain't happening for a couple weeks. And I really wanted to catch a couple leftover waves.

We we're pretty lucky, never lost power and no major damage in Levittown. Just a leaky roof in the garage. And DirecTv is out, which kinda blows, but I got top gear on the HD.
Friends in the section next to us had a tree come through their roof, and they weren't the only one's on their street. Freaking nuts how we just have a few trees down and a quarter mile away its death and destruction.

And there is a pic circulating of the coast of Brick, NJ. Three blocks were completely wiped away into the bay. It just looks like a beach side park now. Mantaloking was on fire without access for fire crews. **** ain't gonna be the same for a while.

The only info I can find on Brick is this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YQTjIaIeyM&sns=fb

Our shore house can be seen in the background of the first couple seconds. I wish they got closer so we could see what damage was done.....

yea, it still amazes me there were so few casualties with this type of storm... my uncle has a beach house on Fire Island in NY, he doesn't know the condition of it yet, but the news coming from fly-overs isn't good so far..

Spray Beach Yacht Club - Thats a boat floating in the middle of Bay Ave, the islands main thoroughfare.

Queens, NY

Holgate, NJ - Used to be sand dunes under those houses.

That last before/after photo is right next to the beach we go to all the time - Brick Beach III. It's in the town where our shore house is located. We had 3-5 feet of water in the house. Home inspector says it's most likely a complete tear-down....
