My acura 3.2 TL, tell me what you think?

I joined this forum to gain information on autocross and open-track dates/locations. I set up the footwork of my car for better balance [Tanabe springs, KYB shocks, Comptech camber adjusters], and also got a set of light weight wheels with some stick Kumho rubber. Since these pictures I also added a Apex'i WS-2 exhaust system. I'm looking for any info. on futurs autocross/track dates as well as any advice on how to set-up the car and what additional mods I should use. Sorry for the quality of the images, I can't afford a digi. camera, and these all came from a fun saver. Any help is much appreciated. thanks. Dan

You’re the first person I’ve come across that intends to hit the track with a TL. You get props for that!

Welcome.

Thanks guys. Its a shame that few people use the TL as a performance vehicle, and I'll tell you why. The chasis, although very similair to the Accord, is 90% stiffer than it's sisiter car. Also, as with all Acura's, the steel use to make this car is high quality. Not to mention that Acura's are made in Japan, vs. Hondas that are built in the states. No, I am not knocking on domestic labor, but in Japan the quality of cars is ultra high due to incentives from the Japanese gov.
Add to the fact that the 3.2 liter sohc vtec six-cylinder in my car has some major balls. A stock 1999 3.2 makes 185 brake horsepower. The suspension wa salready stiff, but not enough for me hence my concentration of mods in that area. Also, the stock tires are very thin, only 6.5 inches. I managed to buy some cheap Speed Max wheels that are 8.5 inches wide. Sure, they may be heavy but the width of the Kumho rubber helps the car grab tarmac.
Only issue is the weight. It has a ton of options, which I do enjoy but add alot of unneccesary girth. I am going to add some Rotora rotors and some Hawk pads to help slow it down.
Thanks for the exposure, and if there are any meets in the Erie/PGH area, get in touch!
