Wink My Diving Vids from Bonaire (GoPro) - Octopus, Tarpon, Turtles, Wreck, etc.

My girlfriend and I went to Bonaire last week for an incredible week of diving. She had been there in the past, but this was my first time. This was my first time diving in the ocean since being certified for my OW course back in June of this year. Not only that, but it was also my first time ever leaving the US. I had a brilliant time. We went to Buddy Dive in Bonaire. What a beautiful country, from north to south. I highly recommend it for anyone who has not been!

These are just a FEW of the vids I took. I apologize for any shaky video. Again, this was my first time ever in the ocean diving, so I am very new to the whole underwater world with currents and such. But I LOVE it and am officially addicted... damn.

I'm using a GoPro Hero2 HD with the GoPro Dive housing, red filter, and shot in 720 HD with 60 FPS.

BEST in my opinion. We went to the national park on the north end of the island for a cookout. The site is known as Boca Slagbaai. Great little bar with bar food, pink flamingos abound, and so much more. BEAUTIFUL location. Anyway, long story short... This was my last dive of the day. We hopped out into the water and headed north into the current. The current changed and REALLY started to suck us off of the reef. We kept our calm and were able to stay close. I saw this crazy cloud of bait fish.. known as a "bait ball" I was told. I swam toward it and hovered, taking video. The bait fish began to lift as Tarpon started to swim through. What an incredible sight - I can't believe what I saw and was able to record on video. It was such a fun, entertaining and incredible time. The video is here:

Thanks! It's something that I absolutely love. It's an expensive hobby, just like cars, just like photography, just like well.. anything fun! You can take a course to get certified for not much money here - local dive shop in Media, PA:

We have opened a brand new facility to better serve you. Our bright new facility offers a complete showroom, on-site classroom and a fantastic deck where you can relax with your fellow scuba enthusiasts. Additional pictures of this fantastic facility are available on the About USA page.

Sadly, the last scuba training facility in Center City recently closed its doors. We are now the closest store to Center City, only 25 minutes away! We are close to major roads and public transportation.

We fix one day courses for FREE. The current trend in the industry is to cram more and more training into a shorter amount of time. Some training facilities offer beginner courses in as little as one day. In our opinion, this is neither safe nor enjoyable for the student. If you are the victim of one of these one day wonder courses, contact us and we will retrain you properly for free. This is your opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with your local diving community along with improving your competence in the water.

Recession Buster Special:
$299 PADI Open Water Diver Course, Confined Water Portion ( Regularly $375 )
Open Water Certification Dives Not Included
No Extra Charge for Referrals ( Most Shops Charge $50 )

There is just something about that sound of the bubbles and the reg breathing in. I fully understand!

I'm VERY happy with the quality of the vids, especially when you watch in HD. I did 720p so I could use the 60 FPS mode. Choppy video pisses me off! The Dive Housing from GoPro is a flat lens which helps fix the underwater focus issue of the regular GoPro waterproof housing. I also had a red filter. My setup:

The bait ball was insane. I can't even really put into words how much fun that was. Nature is damn cool, I must admit.
