You're going to post a 30 minute youtube link with no explanation and expect me to watch it?
Seriously?

Summary info from:
http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/5644...0060-kony2012/ "I suggest for those that don't know about this campaign then to watch the above video, if you already know about it I'd suggest watching it anyway. In summary the KONY2012 campaign has one objective - to capture and sentence Ugandan Lord Resistance Army (LRA) leader Joseph Kony for the abuse, rape, and murder of countless children. Despite being #1 on the worldwide most wanted list, little effort was being made to ensure his capture until one man set up the group Invisible Children Inc with the sole intent of capturing the leader of the guerrilla group. quote: "Joseph Kony (born 1961 in Odek, Uganda) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA say that God has sent spirits to communicate this mission directly to Kony. Directed by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has also forced the internal displacement of over 2,000,000 people since its rebellion began in 1986. As a result, in 2005 Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court at the Hague, but has succeeded in evading capture since." Their campaign is to make this invisible man visible simply by making him famous. 99% of the world don't know who Joseph Kony is and they want to change that. The idea behind KONY2012 is to make sure enough people know about Kony and what he's doing so that U.S. Military forces can remain in Uganda throughout 2012 and ensure the capture of this man. In doing such they have got 20 of some of the most famous people in the world such as singer Rihanna and Millionaire Mark Zuckerberg behind the project, making him as well known as they can."

saw the video last night, i wouldn't mind throwing up a few stickers/posters but i refuse to share stuff anyone tries to get me to share, i just don't want to pollute the newsfeed with someones contest, music, cause, etc. Its pretty much known to anyone what goes on in Africa and the rest of the undeveloped world, not just Uganda. I found it shocking that the US sent advisers because like the video says, its not in the US interests they wont get involved, so i doubt they will send troops. They say they just want the advisers to stay longer but in reality, they need troops. Which is a longshot. The US shouldn't be or be viewed as the worlds police force, that's why other countries hate us because we put our nose in peoples business. Im for sending advisers, guns, supplies whatever, but American lives shouldn't be lost, it would be like 'Nam all over again.

I did a lot of fundraising for the "Invisible Children" in 6th grade so don't get me wrong I support this and all. But seriously I am 18 years old and even I know we have bigger problems in America that we should worry about. The video should be Lets Fix America First 2012. I know its gonna sound extreme malicious to say, but let's be honest, Africa is pretty d*** far from being returned to normal, at this point it's not even realistic for us to be able to stop most of the problems in Africa. Again I completely support the movement to try to end what is going on, but lets worry about gas prices, unemployment, and the rest of our problems first. It seems kind of arrogant, at least in my opinion, that the United States always feels the need to go help other countries with their problems when we have so many of our own. Sorry if that was hard to follow, I just woke up not too long ago

we need a new global government w/o corporate or religious bias. |

So wait a second, people are just realizing now what's happening in Uganda? Have the last 50 years just been forgotten? This is not new news, this is ancient news, and is one more thing I don't need to spend my already low disposable income on.
