E46 M3! it's a little off from what you Want, but its much better car than 335i. Your not going to get 350hp but with 4.10's in the rear and headers will feel just as fast as 350. With headers you will make 300-310hp. You also can buy an aftermarket warranty, and the car is in the price range you want.

the only mod that would go on a 335i.would be a tune... the m3 would need A lot of work to achieve the tq.and power a tuned 335 has, and you can always remove the tune for warranty purposes, not to mention the m3 costs twice as much to insure

Yes a 335i makes alot of power with a tune. I think the popular one is called a jbl tune but 335is have alot of problems. Fuel pumps fail like theres no tomorrow and the n54 engine in the 335i blow pretty easily about 400whp where the s54 in the m3 can handle like 550. There is no doubt that its much harder to
Make power with the m3. The e46 m3 is also a better built, better handling car that has a limited slip differential unlike the 335i but that's my opinion. The 335i no matter how fast is still a three series, and will never be an m car. My best advice is to test drive them. I drove both, really didn't like the 335i and loved the m3. The M has a much more raw sport car feeling that is truely a blast to drive, that's why I own one and love it. Just my 2 cents -Connor |

i can see your point, but im looking for a nice daily that can get out of its own way, not something i plan to race on my way to work and back every day... so with that being said would you still choose the m3 over the 335?
as far as fuel pumps go they are warrantied till 120k and ive seen quite a few people with 400hp and no problems, any links to blown up n54's? |

M3 > 335. The 335 can make more power, but the M3 is better or equal to the 335 in every other aspect. I honestly think the e46 M3 with the SMG transmission is one of the best overall cars on the road today. I would never consider it to be a "tuner" car, but its still a raw performance vehicle. With headers, tune, suspension, and some wider tires, they are a blast to drive, whether your driving to work or through some twistiest on the weekend.

It's not that they can't handle 400 but the tunes tend to over push the engine, when I was looking at them there was alot of blown engine popping up on e90 post. I would highly suggest getting a manual. BMW's smg 2 is loaded with problems. -Connor |
