Anyone know how to get rid of the rattle? I cant fit a washer or anything between the silencer or exhaust.. I tried putting a peice of folded up aluminum foil where the bolt threads into.. no good. PLEASE PLEASE for the love of god help me get rid of the rattle..

And yes, I heard "take the silencer out", or "sell the exahaust to me", or the "buy a new car" one.

That used to drive me nuts, but you will get used to it, and try to ignore it, and embrace the fact that your car rattles sometimes, but its still as fast as a rocket.

If it were me I would drill a hole at the bottom of the tip where it contacts the silencer and thread a bolt into it.

Been there done that. Ask one of the vendors on this forum if they could do that for you. I doubt it would take half an hour or cost more than a 10cent bolt.

I would JB weld it only if I wanted to perm keep it in there, which I dont. With the drilling, your saying to drill and tap another bolt into it? It already has one, dont know if another one would stop that mother from rattling like a mofo.

Two bolts are better than one.

Or you could bend the silencer a bit so it engages the tip better. For example, take a punch and poke bumps into it that radiate outwards.

Good idea, I will try the punch deal before I drill another hole in there.. even though I can do both.. I have the tools to tap the metal.

I had an exhaust rattle before. I fixed it by banging the silencer with a hammer to make it slightly oval shaped. It stoped vibrating then.
