Your Bad Shipping Experience (Car Parts or Whatever)

So I figured I'd make a thread about this based upon the bad experience I'm going through the with same guy twice and is still happening.

Back in the later months of last year, around the summer time, I was getting Weld Wheels with tires on there and also M/T drag radials sent to me from a guy in NC. He ends up being a real nice guy and very honest through out this whole process. The first time around we go UPS, and to make this a long story short, it takes about 1.5 months for them to not find my address and then ship the wheels and tires back to the guy.

We said ok, let's try Fedex this time around. He ships them the weekend of Halloween. I'm waiting and waiting, and still to this day, have yet to see them. He's been very honest about it all and has sent me back a few hundred of the money I have sent him already. Supposedly the last tracking they had on the wheels and tires was 3 hours away from my place back on November 28th. It's been 1.5 months since then.

My question is, how can two major shipping companies **** up like this bad. Luckily I'm a very patient person. The guy said that when he talked to one lady, that he would be refunded some money for this issue, and he told me he would split some with me because of the agrevation.

Anybody else have any bad experiences with shipping anything?

Next time tell them to send it to a shipping hub and tell them you will pick it up.

Fedex ****ed me over like that but they claimed they stopped by my house three times...but i was home ALL DAY and they never even showed

Well, I shipped a Kenne Bell Blower to a guy with signature comfirmation and insurance (which I added since the cost of replacement). He wasn't home when it got there and his girl friend signed for it. He sent me pictures of the package and it was a complete mess. Wood box broken, part of the blower hanging out, peanuts and foam everywhere.....you get the picture. I think the ups guys tried to see how far the could through a 86lb box. UPS wanted to take the blower and inspect it......then wait for a decision if they would cover it. They told me since they didn't pack it there was a good chance they weren't going to cover it. I just said **** it and paid to replace the peices that were broken. The buyer was shocked that I was doing that but I felt my name on that board was worth more than a few hundred bucks.

The worst experience I had with UPS was they dropped off $3k+ worth of computer parts at the neighboring house because apparently we weren't home, when we were home all day long and all night waiting for the package. They left us a note saying the neighbors had it.

Just shipped my trans out to a guy and Fedex apparantly smashed the case somehow, so this should be fun...

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

lol if you guys only knew what goes on at these warehouses, you'll understand why packages end up at point B beat to ****.

it isnt a bad story but more funny. several years ago when i bought an air ride kit for my old car, i was waiting for the parts to come in. i got a box at the door, brought it in and opened it. found my struts, fittings, airline, etc.. and i also found some sort of digital read out and random packaged parts that looked nothing like it belonged with the kit. i took pictures of the mystery parts and emailed them to the company i bought my kit from. they responded with "those arent our parts". After inspecting the parts a little more i found a name to the digital part and it turns out the extra parts i had were for a gazelle exercise machine. seems like a box broke open and the guys in the warehouse just threw the extra parts in my box.

After 1 year USPS still has $600 worth of rare Toyota TRD Cavalier parts and they still refuse to attempt to find them. I originally went to my local post office for help and the guy couldnt even be bothered. I went to the post office in the next town and they "sent an email" to the dead mail center, but i never heard back from them. I called "customer service", they "filed a report", later i got a call from the person assigned to my "case". It was the same dip**** from my local post office who couldnt even be bothered in the beginning. I had to call back and request to get someone else on the case since he already proved to me that he is worthless. I havent heard anything.

I shipped a $20 Xenocron chip to my friend in North Carolina in a nice bubble wrap filled envelope. He never got it; 4 months later it popped up at my mom's house really dirty with the envelope ripped a little. I mailed it again and again it never showed up but this time I never got it back; it's been about 2 years.

I usually go UPS and nothing has ever shown up torn, ripped, broken etc... Maybe occasionally a small dent in the box but no horror stories.
