My new camera.

So today I sold my Olympus E-420 camera for 300 dollars and picked up a Canon Rebel XS for 200 dollars. It came with a 75-200mm lens(I wanna sell). I am not used to this camera at all! Compared to my Olympus this is like I just got into DSLR camera. Any way here is my first picture with it.

To me it's just too big. I have to be very far away for pictures. I just want a smaller lens.

Just saw you have a larger lens... Get the 18-55 and you'll be set for most average shots.

yeah a 75-200 is a telephoto lens... not prime for car shots. if all you're using it for is car/portrait work get like an 18-55mm lens or something in that range. lower aperture, like an f2.0 or lower will give you a good contrast between the background.

I'll prob pick up a 18-55 one day. Right now I am looking into a 50mm F/1.8.

Yeah I mean I have no problem using it right now. But some of my photo spots are "small" and I just don't have the room to work with, with this lens. What do you think about the 50mm 1.8 or 1.6 ?

it'll get you that fast shutter speed but the bokeh for the car photos isnt there as much as it is when you shoot closer to the subject.
I hardly use mine, only to get an effect. for a full shot with the scene around the car, I never use the 50mm
but I guess thats just my style of shooting.

Can you post some pictures you took with the 50mm. I would look to see the "effect" your talking about. I really don't know much about lens, this is the first camera I can buy some for.
