I have 195s on my 7inch wide. its pretty just flush with the wheel and no stretch, but no balloon bubble style tires.
this is the closest pic I have of them I think ![]() 195/45/16 on 16x7

Its all opinion and what you like, but I don't see how you can have 'good fitment' unless your fenders are rolled. Are you not interested in doing that? You could probably keep the same size tires if you roll your fenders, but thats just a guess.

fenders rolled, a little lower and a little more camber and I'm sure you'd be good to go. As long as the tires have clearance against the struts/coils. I know I can't go to any wider of a wheel on my DD now because clearing the coils is really tight, I need shorter springs bad.

ohh, ok... yeah those stick out a decent amount. I think you'll need to roll your fenders AND go with a narrower tire, but hopefully not too narrow, it just doesn't look good IMO.

i vote 165 45
here are some photos that might help with your decision; I know the rim size is different but it should look pretty much the same, depending on tire brand http://www.tyrestretch.com/7_165_40_R16/ http://www.tyrestretch.com/7_165_45_R15/
