i actually bought it with the ls1 more or less complete and swapped. just had to do a few little things to get it together and running smoothly. the swap isn't that difficult though, i was planning to pick up an fd shell and do it over this winter but ended up getting a deal on this i really couldn't refuse.

also, i love rotarys despite the issues and a bridgeported 13b or 20b would be crazy if i had the money. but you can't beat having the reliability, sound and powerband of an ls1, especially given the cost. for a stock motor the car absolutely rips. an fd with an ls has been one of my dream cars for a long time, more than any other car i've had and it doesn't disappoint at all. can't wait to take it to the track next summer.

replaced the thermostat and fan relay after a month of no driving, also installed a samberg performance rear diff brace to eliminate wheel hop.

quick pic at work with the other two shop cars.

That RX7 is in incredible shape! Very nice pick up. Honestly, I'm conflicted with the LS1 swap tho. I love the rotary engines, but I also can't deny the reliability & power of the LS1...........................

i love the rotary engine too... a naturally aspirated 3 rotor would be so sick to have... but the ls1 is also an amazing engine and the swap really carries no negatives. the only thing the rotary has going for it is that it's unique and sounds beast with the right port work.

maybe some day i'll own a rotary but for now i'll enjoy being able to roast second gear from a roll and still get 28+ mpg on the highway...

somewhere around 360-370 whp... basically stock. still good for 11's on slicks though.

as for wheels... really undecided. most likely gonna keep it simple though. have some one-piece BBS's i'm looking at that are 17x9 and something like a 25 offset. stock is 16x8 +50. right now i have 245's on, would probably only go to 255 all around if i got those wheels.
