Summit Point is a very nice track and less than 2 hrs from Harrisburg http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

Pocono is also just under 2 hrs from Harrisburg http://www.poconoraceway.com/

If you can accept just under 3 hrs drive, NJMP is also a fantastic track http://www.njmp.com/index.php

There are quite a few organizations that run track days at all the above, for example http://www.pdadrivingschool.com/

Look in the roadracing section on this forum for more specifics.

So when one drag races, they are not driving? Sounds like some sort of philosoraptor statement.

Correct. In addition to using the throttle, driving requires steering inputs and use of brakes (unless you are in a Miata, then brakes aren't always required).

Yeah I know, I'm just teasing. I know that drag racing doesn't take any skill at all. Silly drag racers.

Drag raving is only good for finding out how fast your car is!

I know he doesn't want drag racing, but Numidia is a great track. We tested there all summer. Little cold now, but next year if you see a black or blue ProMod Corvette, stop and say hello!

Most events are at Hershey Park but they had one at the Farm Show. There is an SCCA event this month in Hershey.

If you get on PATuned.com then you will hear about these events, it's mostly HBG folks on there.

Have you ever? Im going to assume you haven't. Therefore you have no idea what you're talking about. It may take no skill if you're just running your 17 second jap-crap car just for the sake of running it, but if you have a car making real power, and you wanna run competitive, then there is a degree of skill involved in doing a proper burnout, staging, getting good reaction times, and hitting your shifts. Plus, you may not always get down the track (ask ThompsonRacing about that one lol).

It was sarcasm man, haha. I spend about 75% of my Friday nights at the drag strip through the summer. Which includes some seat time in my old fox body.
