Weak tranmission?

So when i first got my car it was about 10 months ago and when i first started driving it I would launch everywhere almost all the time. And now i recently stoped because i think theres somthing wrong with it(go figure). Everytime I shift into the next gear the powerband goes up and then down about 1g and then back up to the crusing speed. Could this mean I need a new transmission???I dont think its my clutch that seems fine. PLEASE help me out cause this has been bugging me. I have been taking an easy on it for a while now but that doesn't seem to matter now right? Sorry for so much. thanks

its your clutch...its slipping.

dont beat on it because eventually its gona give out and leave you stranded.

btw what color is your car. i saw an rs on tabor rd the other day.

My car is Dark Blue. It might of been me I dont recall,but I think I saw you on night i was on my way to Nesh. We had real bad weather that night. But thanks for the help so thats all it is my clutch, nothing else?

yeah when a clutch slips it is symptomized by the revs raising without the car actually accelerating at a normal pace. They will eventually fall back to place when the clutch grabs.

do you have the 2.5RS logo on your fender. I waved down someone who did about a year ago and talked to them at levick and tabor. lol.

No the back of my car is shaved with only the 2.5RS logo on the trunk, nowhere else. Well now that I know(thanks to you) that its my clutch should I just upgrade to a stage 2. What do u recommend?

what are your power modifications? A stage 2 clutch is definitly going to be a good upgrade, but might not be neccessary at your power level.

Cold air intake,nology hot wires,Greddy exhaust, STi motor monunts,short shifter. I was looking to get a turbo put in soon hopefully by summer

well if your going turbo then get the upgraded clutch, if not then you really dont NEED it....but id get it anyways for the fun of it.

well exedy makes the stock clutch, and i havent heard any complaints from them. But then again, ACT is a good company to. Goto www.rs25.com and do some reasearch there

I have a exedy clutch and flywheel, no complaints from me. Same stuff happened with me, I did the clutch test.. put in 1st gear, let clutch out without pressing on gas. Car didnt die, bad clutch. Oh yah, hold the break down while doing it.
