Open Source Tune

Hi all,

I have a 2002 WRX (completely stock) and was just wondering if anyone in the Tri-State or Lancaster areas did open source tuning? I was thinking about getting a Cobb AP v1 and having Phatbotti tune the car using that, but he's up near CT. Anyone more local?

Thanks!

Pretty much any of the vendors on here that tune will you have area1320 in easton pa and r/t tuning and lansdale pa and turbotek tuning. Have had turbotek and area1320 both tune cars and would have either one tune again and never heard anything but good about r/t tuning.

Yeah but how many will tune with the AP v1? I thought most of the licensed tuners for Cobb only tune the v2...also, isn't Turbotek up in MA?

Not sure who still tunes the AP V1. Grab street tuner for it and maybe Ryan can help you out.

It is pretty tough to find anyone that will touch the V1 these days.

You will be hard pressed to find a better Subaru tuner than Andy Brahy and he can only be found at R/T Tuning.

Really!? Whats the reasoning behind this? I figured the V1 would always be a cheaper alternative.

Several months ago Cobb offered a trade in program for the AP1 to AP2. That was their way of offering support to the guys who bought the AP1's and giving them a chance to upgrade. Once the trade in program ended COBB pretty much stopped supporting the AP1's.

We prefer tuning Cobb systems due to the features and stability of the accessports. However we do offer OS tuning as a cheaper alternative. Feel free to contact us if you would like to make an appt.

^^^^ Good find...Last time I talked to them they did it for one of my customers but they made it seem like the deal ended and they were doing the cust a favor...

Either way if you call and say you have an AP1 and you have a few tech questions....they wont even entertain ya...lol
