What is the name of the texting that iPhones and some Android OS (And other) phones do? Instead of a new message listed separately, it has the whole conversation of sent/received texts from that person. I want to make sure my new phone does this.

SMS? I think thats what Blackberry calls it.

SMS is just the Short Message Service - basically most text messages that don't contain more than 160 chars or data.

They are SMS threaded into one API. After 160 chars they are broken up into multiple SMS's.

if its an android phone it will have the "AIM chat style" text messaging. in the inbox you click the name of the person who texted you or you texted and everything that was sent back and forth will all be on one page.
Hancent is just another text app. and it has pop up notifications like the iphone dose. i have android 2.2 on my htc G2 and like the normal stock messaging program better. i hate anything that pops up. another reason i got a droid instead of an iphone.

Threaded is definitely it. I love threaded. last phone didn't have it. Someone would answer a question and I didn't remember what the question was without going back.

there are anti virus security programs for droid phones.

Yes, lookout basic is free and pretty effing good. Also, a smart consumer helps. Don't go rooting your phone, downloading random crap from their custom marketplace and expecting roses and daffodils.

yeah lookout is good. i had that on my blackberry and it worked awersome. i really like the where is my phone feature. ive had to use it a few times. on the phone im using now, the one im using is called AVG anti virus, the free edition. it real time scanns incoming email, text msgs, any thing you load onto your mirco sd card or anything you download. with the android phones, there really no reason to jail break them. they allready do everything you could ever want to do already.
