Climb to 1768 Feet - GoPro? View... Crazy!

If you haven't seen this, it's amazing. Don't know who these guys are; or, what they get paid, but it isn't enough. My stomach was actually turning over watching it. Try not to get dizzy. Are you afraid of heights? How about climbing 1768 feet to the top of a tower?!

I have seen this, and I will say this again, **** that. There is no way in hell I would do that. Not enough money in the world to pay me to climb up there and stand on something that is probably as big as a dinner plate. What I would like to see is, how they get down.

The odd thing is that they don't have to be tied off. Where other osha standards require fall protection above 6 or 10 feet

First time seeing this video on my on my big monitor, feel nauseated.

I could take the elevator up 1600ft and do the first free climb to right about 2:49 in, that's where my limit is, at the junction box. No way going past that.

Sadly, I have an odd fear of climbing ladders. I don't mind heights... but climbing ladders scares the **** out of me. I can do one or two steps.. but anything more than that I start to tense up horrible.

While watching that, my heart started racing and my palms got extremely sweaty. I also had the biggest ass pucker you could imagine. I wouldn't care if world peace, a zillion dollars, and a cure for every disease was up there - you could NEVER convince me to climb it. ****, I feel sick from watching it.

Being in the fire service for 10 years, climbing a ton of ladders has proved one thing with regards to this video: Going up is always easier then coming back down. I'd like to see the climb down, but I don't know if I could even handle it.

From personal experience, climbing more than 100 feet in one go sucks ass. Climbing 168 feet at 1600 feet must be pure pain.
Alot of the times unless the ladder is designed with a rail lanyard setup, attaching and detaching lanyards over and over again gets to be very tiring.

Yep, I can deal with 95-110' Ladder trucks and such, but at that height, and free climbing.. no thanks
