Official TST HD Videographer Thread

Well, since there is the photographers thread, might as well put up a thread for those of us who love video. One stipulation: its 2011 people. HD ONLY. Plus it will make this thread that much better. Post videos you, yourself, produced. If you shot it in HD, you can output it in HD. Subpar quality is ONLY acceptable if you had to stabilize the footage.

This is also an attempt at getting the mods to add the vimeo bbCode to the site, which I will oh so casually post here in the first post as a good samaritan.

bbCode Usage
Code:
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/{IDENTIFIER}[/vimeo]
HTML Replacement
Code:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="350" data="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id={IDENTIFIER}"><param name="quality" value="best" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="scale" value="showAll" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id={IDENTIFIER}" /></object>
Your turn guys. This thread will be about ∞x better as we can stay on site if you just paste this new bbCode rule mods...

First day of video with my 7D.

its nice to see that even the most recent HDSLR, the 7D, it still has trouble with the "jell-o effect" when panning.

cant wait until both canon and nikon fix this defect with HDSLR video.

nice video man. I have the hv40 but haven't used it all that much. Hopefully it will get more use this summer. How do you like the hv30?

It's not a defect, it's just part of the technology. CMOS sensors scan from top to bottom, unlike most video cameras which use CCD sensors that capture a full frame at once.

Any DSLR will do it if you move fast enough while recording.

you really can't beat it for the price. Its been filmed to do car meets, short films, interviews, weddings. Only negative i have to say is that it doesnt do too good in low light

Thats why I like running my rolling shutter plugin in after effects after I time everything out in premiere.

Doing a production next week for a band - should be sweet...

T2i does great video. I spent the money for a 7D for sports stills, but it outputs the same video.

This is gonna be a good shoot season. I can feel it.

I have the same exact feeling.. and I was gonna go with the 7D, but the only real difference is the bodies durability... don't need it so said forget it lol.

I've been wanting to upgrade to HD but i haven't found something worth it yet ($$$/budget wise) plus my Sony dcr-sr80 camera is great to use all around in my opinion. Not sure what somebody would pay for it or if i'm 100% ready to commit to an upgrade.

I'm like mine cause of its compact size, lightweight, picks up sound great, respectable video for non-HD, never given me a single problem, and so on.
