Air Compressor Problem

For some reason my air compressor wont hold air above 20psi. Its a Porter Cable and is rated to 185psi, could a bad fitting cause this ?

It might be the valve you use to release the pressure, it might be stuck a little open, or the drain hole... I know mine wouldn't hold air for more than like 2 days, it was a Task Force but none the less...

Does your compressor turn of when it gets to 20psi from 0psi? check your pressure switch.

See it works it just loses pressure extremely quick the only place air is coming out it the tool fitting. It goes from 100psi to 20 in about 30 seconds or less. I checked the drain and the pressure switch it seems fine.

Might be a fitting, or the air tool is worn out, letting all the air past...

take some dishsoap and mix it with water in a spray bottle. spray around hoses and fittings and see where it bubbles.

I am just finishing some "simple" stuff lol. I normally would only use hand or power tools but I got the compressor in a trade for a front timing cover.
