Which we still have bi-weekly, lol.

The car scene in DE is just weak sauce. Plain and simple.

I mean I see nice cars everyday but none of them really are into the meet/car "scene" the way we on the boards are...

There used to be alot of petty childish drama with the DE tuner scene. Most people got tired of it and went there seperate ways. 3 or 4 years ago there was always something going on but now most people just keep to their selves or hang out with small groups of people.

Agreed.

The car scene in our immediate area is pretty lackluster for some reason.

You can venture down to Baltimore and DC and the car scene is 20x's bigger.

Then you have the greater Philly area which isn't bad but that's at least an hour drive for most of us to any of the good meets. That's too far for weekly/bi-weekly type meets but probably ok for the one time open house/car show type things, which I do go to.

The car scene in places like Florida, which you mentioned, or the home of the car scene, California and southern California to be specific, is just leaps and bounds bigger.

I've noticed this too. And actually LOVE the fact that this is how it is. All the ricers and young kids who only care about street racing have moved on.

This leaves those small groups you refer too, which in my experience, turns out to be more fun anyways.

Those others always ruin things anyways revving their engines, doing burnouts, basically attracting unwanted attention.

I have no real complaints with how it is as I have a good time at the bi-weekly meet. The group that comes out has developed a great friendship and we like hanging out. We also realize, now at least, that this is as big as it'll probably get.

I also realize that there is a good handful of people who are enthusiasts in the area but are either too busy to come out even though they may want to, or simply rate the car meet low on the totem pole so even if they could come they don't. And who can blame them. Whatever makes people happy.

I've been to a couple of the meets, it's usually a great time with great people. I have no complaints the times i've been. I just haven't bothered coming back out with it being colder out and the fact that no one really cares to see a boring slow pretty much stock g6. Not that they really cared to see my tC either lol.

It just got waaay too ridiculous everyone was hating on everyone else Back then I used to do shows EVERY single weekend in the spring/summer, but I haven't done a show now in almost 2 years.

I've met some great friends through forums and the car scene. Hell some of the forum guys I've met were even at my wedding last spring. There are always some bad eggs but they seem to weed themselves out eventually.

unfortunately not every state can have "fast & furious" type of car scenes....

let me get my violin out.

haha! dude, it's not about the cars.... well it sort of is, but to me and most of the people that come to the meets it's about the people and friendships you build.

you ALWAYS seem too busy to come to a meet anyways.

amen its all about creating a good group of guys who help each other. Thats what i learned in Florida everyone wanted to help the guys trying to build up the cars. Getting pizza and late night dyno and wrenching. Who remembers the sunoco and carwash days in newark with NO COPS?. Man i miss those days. Turbo tim. Yea alot of my supra buddies with 1200 are in the dc-bmore area and dont usually come up this way. If you want to see a nice group of cars come to hotrod weekend in the summer with my crew. Yall are invited!!!

Ever wonder where the "people of walmart" photos come from? I do power quality assessments at all the stores in DE (don't work for walmart), and wow I see some strange stuff, mostly in Milford, Georgetown, and Seaford
