picked up a 4 month old male veiled chameleon today, and got the cage all setup.

little vid i took. for some reason the live crickets don't jump out of bowls, so there are like 6 in this cup hes eating.

well if you go to pet stores they range from 100-200 just for the chameleon, cage 80, lights 80, plants 20ish. I found the whole thing on craigslist actually for $80, couldn't pass it up.

I thought chameleons...like...camouflaged....? lol, either way, very awesome! I used to have friends who owned them when I was younger. Haven't seen them around in awhile

he seems to change when he's pissed off and trying to hide, most of the time he's bright green.

cool as ****. I almost got a dwarf cham a year ago... went to the pet store, saw them and their badassness but was heading up to the mountains so decided to wait till i got back...

got back, they were all gone, so i dropped too much money on a fish tank haha

I had one of these years ago. Make sure to wash & dry your hands with antibacterial soap BEFORE picking the little guy up. Mine got blisters on his feet from the oils on my fingers. (so the vet said) yep, he was allergic to ME.

I had three iguanas all over 5ft. they were pretty awesome, but you have to pretty much dedicate a whole room for them. plus you have to keep a fridge full of veggies, lol

God NO!!!
that'll poison him right through his feet. Little kids have been getting sick at day care centers for ages now because of people letting them apply too much. I'd hate to think what it'd do to the Chameleon. Best bet is to call a decent vet that deals with reptiles and ask specifics on handling him.

gotcha...ya I always wash my hands before and after i handle him or do anything with his cage or food. just habit i guess from having turtles and reptiles.
