Not good that he wrote attempted to elude officer, goto court, tell them you were trying to find a well lite area to pull over or something. I am still waiting for my court date for my 95.4 in a 55 on 95 north

Varies with companies.

Mine didn't change at all from my 4 pointer, but I guess they never found out. I'll be dropping 3 of those points in a few months.

hey on another forum someone brought this up... the cop got with "vascar" that is what it says on my ticket.. here is the thing.. when i passed the cop(he has someone else pulled over in a shopping cneter) he was OUT of his car. vascar works with 2 points on a road and being timed.. how could he have done that when he was over 200 yards behind me?

Answer?

He couldn't. VASCAR uses a calibrated stop watch. If he's out of his car dealing with someone, he can NOT accurately time you.

get a lawyer, that is all. should be an easy case since he was out of his car, almost a laughable one.

ALTHOUGH are you shure there was not another cop clocking you and one cop pulling people over? i've been to court for alot of tickets- win some loose some. go in with a GOOD lawyer and talk to the cop before the case starts, see if he can drop it down to a no points violation.

First of all if you are serious about fighting the ticket. Do a request for discovery. Depending on what you ask for this will usually take some time and you can have your court case postponed until you get the info you requested. I still have a ticket pending from July 1 of last year.

Next if you request the correct info most likely you will not get everything. So then you go into court and talk to the prosecutor and bring up what you requested and that you did not receive everything. If he give you **** say everything you requested is public information and according to the freedom of information act you are allowed to obtain this information. Then you can threaten to subpoena the information, that usually gets their attention.

Most of the time by now they will work you out a really good deal or drop the case. Depending on how confident you are and if you seem like you know your ****.

Obviously I am keeping this broad but if you want more information start searching the internet there are a few good info sites out there.

I have been to court more times then I can count and have yet to loose a ticket or have to pay.

If it was not a PA state trooper and just some local cop which it prob was b/c they used vascar it will just be you and the cop in front of a JP and you will not even have to fight against a prosecutor which is good b/c most cops are not to bright. (No offence to any officers on here, but everyone I have gone up against, I make them studder and they usually look like a fool)

Also did he claim he used vascar or did he claim he paced you? Vascar is very inaccurate b/c it is just the timing between two objects and depending on how fast or slow the cop clicks the two switches can affect your speed. They are supposed to give you a 5 mph leeway. Also when they time you they are supposed to time when the shadow of your front bumper crosses the line and stop timing you after the shadow of your rear bumper crosses the line.

What if anything did you say to the cop? Did you write down anything during and after the stop?

Done typing for now.

yes i recorded everything i remembered.... cop asked if iknew how fast i was going , i said no, he asked if i knew the speed limit, i said no. asked if i had anything to drink, i said no, asked if i had guns, i said no. asked if i was trying to run from him , i said no.

used sir, officer, and other polite remarks. my ticket says used vascar.. but says "clocked at 71.7 mph) under the other section. but the vascar mark is checked.. the address in which he wrote down is false aswell...

Insurance companies tend to charge $80-$250 per point, per year, for 3 years.

Howso, if your points drop by 3 each year? That's a pretty sucky system they use.
