Info on a Euro Spec Audi RS6 Avant

Anybody know how difficult it would be to import one of them to the US. To my knowledge there left hand drive and dont have any troubles like R34's.

To those who dont know....

-5.0 Twin turbo V10 (derived from the 5.2 out of the gallardo)
-580hp & 480 lb ft.
-15.5" 6 piston Carbon cermanic brake set up (15.5" 4 piston rear)

Any importing info would be nice, yes its very expensive but as far as my ultimate cars go its up there with the R34 ($100,000+ for essentially a kit car), C63 AMG (most sensible), and a Supra. Thanks!

correct me if im wrong but the problem with importing cars isnt that they're RHD its that the goverment saftey ratings are different. or in this case since the US have never had the rs6 avant they're non-existent. but like i said i can be way off.

They weren't crash tested so I doubt you could get one over here legally with the DOT.

Talk to AutoSpeed Performance in NJ. They specialize in audi tuning, and a good buddy of theirs has imported several cars to the U.S.

Your correct that's the issue so the price to federally bond one would probably be the same.

I actually just discussed this with a VW/Audi representative. My parents would be very interested in the new Toureg 5.0L V8 Diesel but they only offer the bitchy V6 diesel here. And we also inquired about getting a german spec S4 Avant here, and even though it is a body that has been crash tested here and an engine that is already here in the country in the sedan, it would still cost around $15-20k in various fees and conversions on the vehicle (mostly programming **** lol) the representative told us.

Im with u though, having the V10TT RS6 here would be BAD ASS. But unless ur made of ALOT of money, ur better off just getting something that is here legally sadly

haha not quite, i tend to do a lot of research before buying anything so yea...want to finish the STi before im out of college then its "Money to blow" (Drake voice) lol Also you gotta love the AMG de-appreciation lol For example C63's are now into the 30's....2 year old 70k car dropped 40k

its a shame its so difficult to import cars like this, especially when the safety card gets played.... german cars like this are built SO MUCH BETTER than US standards...
and as far as emissions go, they should be on par mostly too. i blame california CARB. thats the reason we dont have vw's AWESOME diesel that averages 71mpg...

I feel u there lol

In that case Im in a similar situation, I got my eye on the Porsche 996 Turbo after school, theyre dipping into the 30s now too, so a few years out in the working world its a serious possibility
