im not talking about DRL...im talking about the orange parking lights that people drive with, usually caddys, vettes...high end GM cars...I see them all the time driving with the headlights off but the orange parking lights on..just to clarify

the WRX has parking lights, but you can turn them off (switch is on the top of the steering column)--I dont think i have ever even turned them on

As soon as you start the car they come on. You can't turn them off. I guess so you can see them coming, I don't know why GM did that, but I like them on my T/A with the foglights on rolling around right when it gets dark out. It just looks cool.

Yes you are, the amber lights are the Daytime Running Lights on those cars. A Trans Am would look pretty stupid with the pop up headlights up during the day wouldn't it?

On the new ones (ie after GM made all their cars have daytime running lights) it is.

I'm not a moron, I know they didnt have daytime running lights back in the 80's, or even early/mid 90's. My mom's 97 has them and my step mother's 94 doesn't.

No-one said you were a moron, but just so you know, my car is an 84 and has FACTORY daytime running lamps, an option for a lot of high-end GM cars in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, its called twilight sentinel, and could be dis-engaged by the driver if not wanted to be used all the time....wasn't trying to make ya look dumb, just pointing that out

well the most annoying thing are people who drive with no lights, parking lights or fog lights at night, dusk, or dawn. they think just because the clock says "AM" that its easy to see them. um, no.

its like a cloaking device. the only reason you can tell they're there half the time is because they block the headlights of the people behind them,.. you just see this black spot devoid of light and know something is there. idiots!
