yet another...fact or whack??

IS it true, that police cars cannot "chase" a motorcycle after a certain speed because its "dangerous" for the person on a motorcycle?? This sounds RIDICULOUS but everyone says its true. So, is it? and if it is, what are the stipulations behind it?

A police officer may break off a pursuit for any reason he sees fit.. if it seems that its getting too dangerous because of traffic and PEDs they can break it off or be told to break it off by a supervisor.. there is no law as to what you can and cannot pursue.. if the bike just runs a red light and takes off its not worth it to chase it down... but if the dude on the bike is wanted for murder or just robbed a bank you can bet they are gonna chase it till the sun comes up
