Love cars? Earn $15 in a study at Temple U!

My name's Morgan and I'm an undergraduate researcher in the Object Perception and Learning Lab at Temple University (main campus).

I'm currently conducting studies in which I'm looking for people who are car enthusiasts, car "experts"-- that is, people who are really good at recognizing the make and model of modern cars.

The study, which takes place on Temple University's main campus, takes approximately an hour and a half to complete and you will be compensated $15 for your time.

There are some limitations for this study, so please be advised:
(1) All participants must have normal vision or corrected-to-normal vision (ie, glasses or contacts).
(2) Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 40.
(3) Since there are members from all around the tri-state area on this site who may be interested in the study, anyone fitting the above criteria is welcome, however travel time/costs will not be compensated.

The site isn't allowing me to post an email address right now, so if you are interested in this study or have any additional questions, please contact me through here. Thanks everyone, and have a great day!

Hey, thanks for your interest!

Pretty much this study is a series of visual tasks on the computer. There's a quick, 15-minute task in which you'll be identifying birds and cars (yes, I know birds is a little strange, but... well it's part of the study regardless).

The next part is the longest, about 35-45 minutes, in which you are identifying strictly cars (no birds this time!), by reporting whether one car is the same make/model as another.

The final part is about a half hour, and you will be identifying faces and cars. They're all pretty fun tasks for the car enthusiast to do, and is a great way to test your knowledge of modern car models (and no I'm not just saying that to make you want to do it!)

Haha, it's okay that you're not familiar with identifying faces or birds-- but I do ask that if you decide to participate that you try equally hard on all the parts of the study, regardless of your knowledge base. So don't slack on the faces and birds sections, it totally messes with my results!

As far as when the study is, I conduct it Monday through Friday during my lab hours, which I can inform you of if you've decided that you want to participate. Just email me and we'll try to set something up!

Ah, I'm so glad that you guys are interested in doing this. I've been having a really hard time trying to find people who are really good at recognizing the make and model of modern cars (and not just people who think they are!).

Again, if you're interested at all in the study or have any questions or just want some more information, shoot me an email: cagle.morgan@temple.edu
