Hotwheels collectors

I was just wondering if anyone else on here collects hotwheels cars? I have been collecting off and on for some time now. I don't have as many as I did before but I still have the few Treasure hunts I found over the years. I also found 3 more Treasure Hunts today and thats why I decided to start this thread. I have to find my camera so I can take pics of my collection but I will have pics up soon.

Lol my wall is nothing. I stopped a few years when they started mostly making a lot of weird looking cars. I got rid of most of the ones I had around that time. Now I mostly collect the car I really like. Tuners and muscle cars mostly.

I wonder if the DeLorean takes you back in Hot Wheels time if you get it up to 88 ft/hr

Lol... I work retail, and Hot Wheels collectors are such a PITA. They always want us to check and see if there are more in the back, and I always have to explain to them that were specifically told not to check in the back for Hot Wheels merchandise due to collectors. They are always in at 8am everyday seeing if we set out a new shipment.

I don't know much about the rare ones, I had no idea the treasure hunts said it at the bottom of the package. I have about 300 Hot Wheels myself from childhood, but they are all opened.

I've seen some crazy collections out there! One of my employees has several thousand unopened and is one of those people that mcperson2k is talking about (although he doesn't go every day).

Yeah I don't like the standard collector. I collect the cars I like and any treasure hunts I find is extra bonus. People who ask for all the extra stuff in the back take the fun out of collecting in my opinion. I like having to hunt down certain cars I am looking for asking to see extra stuff in the back takes all the fun out of the chase of collecting. I just got lucky today when I found mine. The lady was restocking as I walked in.

HOLY ****^^^ lol

I passed all my tracks onto my younger brothers along with those battery opperated boosters from my childhood. It eventually got to the point where we'd cover entire rooms with tracks and boosters and ramps and glow in the dark parts and there would be be tiny metal missles filling the air for hours until we got the track just right.

This eventually all stopped a few years ago when we finally got one of our sprawling room-crossing tracks all set up and tossed a few glow in the dark cars on it after making a couple of shake down runs. The problem came when my youngest brother turned off the lights and we tossed three cars on the track at timed intervals. After about 30 seconds, one of the cars made a pretty dramatic left turn off the track while the other two went right and the next thing I know, I'm on the floor. That left turn was on off-ramp right to my noggin and with no time to brace, it took me straight off my feet.

No worries, no one was injured in the crash, and the onsite officials cleared me to race another day.

I have some vintage 'Redline' series stuff from the '60s, like the Boss Hoss '69 Mustang....a '60s vintage collectors case, and the redline race track with 2 of the 'booster houses'...don't remember what their real name was, but the cars would roll into the door, and two opposing spinning wheels would propel the car out the other side.

I also have 2 70s vintage Hotwheels jigsaw puzzles.

I stopped collecting before most people on this site were born....

I remember being a kid, and I HATED the Matchbox cars... They were cheap and plastic while the Hot Wheels were heavy and made of metal.. I definitely noticed a difference even though I was only 5.

PS. I am pretty sure the people who go into the stores early asking for some in the back, aren't usually collecting for themselves, but to sell them online. They told me that you could buy the treasure hunt cars for .97 at the stores, and sell them for $10.00 online.
