Guy catched old lady driving wrong-way down I-95 and catches it all on tape!

CHESTER, Pa. - October 28, 2010 (WPVI) -- Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle who caused a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95.

Exclusive video obtained by Action News shows an elderly woman cruising the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-95.

Cars can be seen weaving out of her way trying desperately to avoid a head on collision.

At one point, she side swipes the center concrete barrier.

Action News viewer Tim Fleming shot the video on his phone while traveling in the northbound lanes.

"It was crazy, man, I thought I was going to see people die, I seriously thought I was going to see people die," Fleming said.

Fleming says at around 12:15 p.m. the woman first began going the wrong way on Rt. 322 in Upper Chichester.

He began following the blue older model Buick station wagon doing everything he could to alert her.
In the video, his phone shakes as he waves his arm.

"I saw cars swerving around her, she wouldn't stop and I yelled at her again I waved my arm at her again. She waved at me leave me alone," Fleming said.

Fleming said he was going 45 to 50 miles per hour and the woman was probably doing the same.

Pennsylvania State Police say the out of control driver caused at least 4 accidents, including one driver who slammed into a bridge overpass.

No one was seriously hurt.

It's unclear why the woman was driving the wrong way, but Fleming says she appeared to be aware of what she was doing.

"I think that she was trying to take herself out. I don't know. I don't know," Fleming said.

Police are still looking for the older model Buick station wagon, blue or possibly silver in color with wood paneling.

Anyone with information about this car is urged to call state police.

agrred ive always thought that like once theyre a certain age have to take it every 6 months or something.or if have some health issues doctor has to make them do it again or something.

that's what I was thinking, at some point in the video isn't there anyway to catch any of the plate number. my jaw was dropped the whole time watching this. I can't believe it.

Just the other day I saw an elderly man who could be stand up, let alone walk and he got in his car and started driving off. Sure enough he backed into a parked car and drove off like nothing happened. I agree with everyone, at some point they have to have something in place where a driver's test needs to be take every few years for people over a certain age.

before i clicked the link i figured chick on the phone or an old lady. figures as much

in MA last year we had a string of like 6-7 elderly related car accidents in 2 weeks. everything from driving through a restaurant to driving on the sidewalks. killed a bunch of people all over the state.

I just watched some moron in a Lincoln make a illegal left hand turn into the exit of a jug handle in Bristol this afternoon. Past 2 huge red WRONG WAY signs. (Behind the Diner at Bath & 13).
I don't even know how to describe it... I wanted to flag people going the correct direction down. I was amazed.
