I think for snow AWD wins hands down. You can make it go pretty much where you want in the snow. RWD definitely for drifting. Thats about all there is to it IMO.

AWD has the most fun. I can still kick the rear out in the Pilot when it snows. Best part is I can go where most cars would get stuck. I almost put myself in a really bad situation Sunday morning before the plows came around but VTM-4 got me out. The Pilot certainly isn't a true 4 wheel drive vehicle and I don't have real snow tires for it but I definitely had fun.
Also, the DSM can do burnouts too so I think it is actually more fun spinning 4 wheels then just, one or two. Although I think stickier tires are coming in the very near future.

Yeah, AWD burnouts > FWD/RWD burnouts. And with moderate AWD power you can kick the ass out around turns as well. A little more challenging than RWD, but just as fun.

for me personally i like FWD.. why because i dont own a AWD car nor a RWD,, so i have to make due.. but i like it also bc i get to drive circles around my friend and his 350z(PT350)when hes tryin to get out of the student lot after it snowed..him being my friend i did go back and help push him out..
Ahh but in the dry times hes laughing at me while doing donuts around me..

Never driven an AWD car hard, but if they understeer like FWD ones, then I think they're a bit overrated. For a track or autocross car, give me RWD anyday. But a daily driver, yea I'd want AWD.

Definitly AWD baby, because u have more control of your car. Just like Wil said u can go were others can't. I road down unplowed streets, drove right overtop of small snowbanks, and got plowed in twice and not once did i get stuck. Not 2 mention that I drifted through corners and down streets some with onm coming traffic stairing me in the face, but i had sh*t loads of fun.

RWD is the most fun, simply because the road is dry more often than it is snow covered. And everyone knows AWD is for people that can't control a RWD.

I'd have to say RWD for dry and even wet, but AWD for snow. I got the most joy from taking my T/A out on a nice day and just powersliding every corner. Thankfully come spring I will have another one to play with.

RWD is hands down the best performing. I am not trying to start a war but think about F1 cars, and almost all other racing series?

F1 and a lot of the racing series that strictly use RWD do so due to the weight advantage and better efficiency of not having 2 more axles and a tranny system that can distribute power to all 4 corners. In fact, when Audi initially brought it's AWD system to rally racing they were ridiculed cause the other teams pretty much bet the added traction would not overcome the weight deficit.
Sure a RWD car can launch as well as an AWD car with tires that are both big and sticky enough to handle the power... on an ideal surface. Now take away that ideal surface and what happens. And when it comes to having a daily driver nothing is better for this part of the world.
