Debating on a second vehicle.

Long story, so here are the cliffs:

.I bought my Corrado as a project car before I got out the Air Force
.Decided to go ahead and fully restore it.(so far body and motor have been done, interior is actually pretty decent)
.Bought coilovers and wheels for said Corrado.
.Could have purchased another vehicle with the money spent on the project so far.

Now, seeing as how I've dumped thousands of dollars into this car, I figured I'd keep going and really get it into with boost and powdercoating. Unfortunately I neglected to remember that it snows out here in Jersey and even a FWD will have issues. I was stationed in Florida for quite a while so forgive me.

I've tossed the idea around of buying an Evo or an R32 for the AWD and safety. The R32 is very partial to me because I'm a VW nut, and they retain value extremely well. The Evo I can't deny because it's a serious beast and can make great power extremely easily. So really, there are 3 avenues to take, finish my Corrado and completely transform it, buy the R and go broke modding it with big power, or conform and buy the Evo? What do you guys see as the best option?

i could pitch an idea. just buy a normal DD that allows you to keep some bank for your project car. Jettas, passats those kinds of cars come to mind. but if you dont wanna do that i say go for a STI or something.

just get a regular wrx with some miles on it. it would be cheap and you can still throw money into the corrado.

LOL, tell that to the Vortex. Those things BONE stock are going for 16k+. I've seen quite a few go for 20k.

I vote R32. EVOs are too much money and the insurance on them is retarded.

Re: Debating on a second vehicle.

All a matter of opinion on what you're using the car for. I respect both, and while I love power, the Evo interior looks a little cheap. It's like driving a Terminator; tons of power, horrible cockpit.

I want owners of each car to voice their opinions on how they handle in the rain, snow, maintenance issues. Not saying I wouldn't be building it. I just want to know how safe it is for me and my son. Each route I plan on taking has numerous benefits and downfalls. Why would the Evo be a better purchase over the R, what am I missing out on if I pick up the Evo? undoubtedly I love my Corrado or else I wouldn't be spending that type of money. I'm just exploring options. I want to make a very informed decision on this and obviously some will be biased, but that's the fun in it.

And not to rule out WRX's and STI's, but so far, I've heard nothing but negative stories when it comes to the drivetrain. School me on it because I don't drive one obviously.

Seriously your best bet is to test drive cars, I had an Evo it was good to me and with snow tires it was great in the snow. It's going to depend on what Evo you buy moe had a front LSD I don't like the way the 03 and 04 evos drive it's all about what you like and what are you trying to spend.

from what alot of people say on DSM Tuners its nothing to worry about unless you start making alot of HP (i think like 500+). even then its sort of rare.
