Lightbulb Planning Car Show, Need Your Input!

I am planning a car show for next spring, and I was just wondering if you guys could send me some input on what kind of stuff you like to see.

Yes, there will be a cash registration, and yes, there will be trophies and prizes.

Yes, always wanted to see what kinda HP these chicks can put down.

Is this show going to be at a Fire house? (only guessing from your name).

Want it to be an "all" car show or imports, classics, domestics only?

I think what we want and what should be there can vary. If its family day at the fire house hookers running on a wheel might not be a good idea. Give us a better idea of the setting and people that may show. I always have ideas.

Thanks Proven,

I will post more detail when it gets closer but the basic idea is that May 2011, Sellersville Fire Dept will be holding a car show. It will be open to all cars with several groups. Late Model Domestic, Imports, Classics, Muscle and possibly antique fire. There will be limited registration but there will be awards. It will be a night event and no there will probably not be any hookers. How ever there will be food.

Some questions I have is how much do you guys expect for registration (is 15-20$ too much?), and how do you feel about vendors coming in. This is all preliminary and nothing is set so take everything with a grain of salt. I appreciate your help and feedback.

Some vendors are good but remember the point of the show and plan accordingly judging takes more time than you think. I know some car shows that failed because of the planning. I would also have a station where you have food and drinks, just the cheap basics. 15-to-20 dollars is fine just make sure you talk some clubs into bringing a couple cars so word spreads.

Idk where or what kinda resources u have. But for me personally, and ideal autoshow has the following: Alot of cars, and variety amongst the cars (I like seeing everything from muscle, imports, classics, exotics, and anything else thats cool/fast/unique in the same place), Events like dyno runs/burnout contests, There should also be a place (or multiple) to see the cars in action (preferably legally and not just morons fishtailing as they leave) such as an autocross course or at least a nice closed off straightaway so people can have some fun, also there should be some sort of chance to experience some cool cars (example, Audi let people sit in R8s at waterfest, not something u can do at most shows ), there needs to be alot of different good food, also, cars in the actual auto show need to be set up to be viewed well (ie not just parked side by side in a lot, assuming these are nicer cars worth looking at lol), and of course there definitely needs to be some hot ass naked chicks struttin their stuff for money and crowd approval

Waterfest is a good example of the features a show should have, what it lacks is diversity of the cars involved (i got bored lol)

A good car show is all about promotion. The more people that hear about it will affect the amount of people who show their car/spectate which in turn makes more money for the vendors/sponsors/charity, which in turn makes the event overall a success and allows you to do it again year after year.

The CF Show gets about a 3-4% return on fliers.....This year we handed out 6000 fliers and got around 200 or just less cars. Half of those cars were return customers from years past.
