Who here has built a computer desk?
![]() Ill probably add on to it later down the road, but my real question is how are those two doors connected? Would that just be some type of wood glue / apoxie? I'm not going to go with legs like that either, I want to be able to move my chair anywhere underneath the entire desk. Give me some ideas and post up your own home crafted desks! |

its probably bisquits and glue. then sand and then poly'd.
A leg to join them at the connection point.

i would imagine they are joined by a bracket on the underside. a simple steel plate with holes on each side would do it. We had desks made of doors at a company i used to work for and they were actually really nice, but we just used a simple steel plate to hole the side on. and you can by the legs at ikea. or you can just buy ikea tables and put them together

^^Mending plates most likely. Maybe some wood glue or elmers in the joint to add some strength. Those support legs right underneath that seam are what's really supporting the weight. I don't trust mending plates in their own, over time they always loosen.
