is my front swaybar too stiff?
coming off the turn pile around a sharp turn at a decent speed i notice that the outside tire seems to start to jump a little. it makes a noise that sound like it's loosing traction every other second, so a little squeak of rubber on and off and this causes the outside tire to feel as though it is bouncing... i presume this is due to the sway bar being in the middle stiffness setting and causing the outside spring to compress too much? the suspension is otherwise stock on this 2010 gt. i'm going to be regreasing the bushing and figured this would be a good time to consider changing the setting of the front. does this sound like a reasonable cause to the tire not holding through a tight turn like this? or should i look at something else? |

Lower control arms you might want to look at Ken. That will help a lot for your car. Something I plan on doing down the road when I get more power. Or were you talking about the front tires?

Sure it's not just your traction control kicking in?
I know on my solstice there are certain turns that the street setting just doesn't do well. Banked exit entrance ramps come to mind. Put it in the competition mode and see how it reacts. And like you said it could be your sway bar is to stiff compared to the back. The stiffer you make the front you have to do something with the back at well. Finally stiffer front sway bar causes more under steer. This can cause the tire to kinda hop I guess but it doesn't sound like you went crazy with the settings. |

I had a similar issue when I first put the Whiteline adjustables on my Rex; with the rear bar at the stiffest setting, it would lift a wheel in hard corners. Turned out I was overwhelming the stock springs, setting it down a notch improved things dramatically...

A sway bar should not cause a wheel to hop. That sounds like a strut, stab control, or tire issue. Its really hard to tell without seeing it or feeling it though.

speaking of my 240, when I first put my coilovers on, I had them to stiff adn when I tried to slide my front end use to bounce around turns, So I loosened them up and then it was smooth sailing from there.
Since I don't know what all is on your car. doa solid and list your complete suspension setup. |

def feels like it's coming from the front and outside tire. sway bars are the only suspension upgrade thus far. i'd love to go all out w/ shocks, springs, control arms, etc, but dont have the money w/ trying to save for a house.
i suppose i can turn off the traction control and stability control and see what happens tomorrow on my way in. it's def not a hop, i don't think the tire ever fully comes off the ground. it's just kind of a... stuttering feeling. |
