Sway bars...

I've heard that rear sway bars can make your car loose control when going through sharp turns, by making the back spin out. Does anyone know more information on this, or if it is true?

It's not just the sway bars, it's your whole suspension setup & how stiff/soft it is from front to back.

Basically the stiffer your ass end is, the higher likeliness for oversteer / spin out.

& the stiffer the front, the more likely to plow or understeer.

It's more about getting your whole suspension setup correctly, than dwelling on one component.

Agreed with swat, but your drivetrain will have alot to do with things, too. You might want to do just a little more research into a part, rather than go on hearsay.

Thanks Guys! I'm trying to do as much research as I can, I just can't find anything definitive on the subject of sway bars.

thicker bars usually make it more stiff and less body roll.

start off with these things if your looking for information.

What is the thickness of the factory bar?
what is the ppi rating of the factory bar?
is it hollow or solid?
what percentage and ppi is the aftermarket bar?
is the aftermarket bar adjustable and if adjustable will the endlinks be damaged due to excessive angle?
