Making a website?

I noticed alot of members have their own websites so i figured i would post this here. I am looking into making a website for my shop. I have read a few how to's but every one goes in a different direction. I already purchased a domain name off of godaddy. Next step would be to sign up with a web host. What host should i go with? One site i was reading recommended FutureQuest and then design the site with KompoZer web editor?

Or should i just use godaddys site builder and hosting? I am just looking to make a basic site with some info and pictures on it so when someone searches my shop's name they will find the site. Any info or suggestions are appreciated.

I would use indexhibit. It's easy to set up and plenty of visual and written content can be showed.

Read some reviews on web hosts and choose the one that is in the top 5 across the various reviews you find. I use bluehost. I also then suggest installing wordpress, and finding yourself a nice free template to get started with. You can then learn about CSS and that will allow you to edit the template to customize it to your liking. Wordpress is a blog/cms tool that allows you to post content on your site with ease by logging into it via an admin page. read up on it. I'm sure it is above and beyond what you will need it for, but it does a great job and gets you up and running quickly.

I'll preface this with the fact that I've never used any other professional hosting with anyone other then goDaddy.

Godaddy's site really isn't that easy to navigate but once you know how to get to what you need it's not too bad. They have a nice selection of free and paid services like Wordpress(free), shopping cart software, etc. They are easy to install, you just select what service(s) you want, they queue up the install, then they notify you when it's done. I have a few domains and some hosting just to screw around with but I find it convenient to have them both done through the same company.

You just tried to be an asshole. You failed because "some much for you" is terrible English. He was asking for user experience. Not some dick like you to respond

You can really buy the domain name anywhere. I personally use namecheap. In your case why not use wordpress, especially if you want something simple? For hosting, if your going with wordpress go with hostgator.com. They use fantastico and it really goes well with wordpress. Wordpress is very simple and has custom themes. Best part free! Hostgator is only like 2 bucks a month.
