Really doesn't look that good.

Use a 2.5 inch rotary with a felt pad and plastic polish. That will make it clear. Still it's never gonna look like a brand new lens.

I went to a detail clinic at poorboys world and this was one of the things people demonstrated.

I should have taken pictures but my girls car has a new headlight from a car crash and an old headlight that was yellow. I polished the yellow hazy one and got it clear but it still never looked at good as the new one. Problem is the headlights get hit with debris that causes cracks to form on the inside of the lens that you cannot get to.

I think what he was trying to say is that for a free mod, sure it's an improvement. But it's by no means clear or "good". If you really want it to get clear again (again, like he said can't get it perfect) you're gonna need plastic polish and some kind of mechanical help.

is it an improvement. yes.

does it look good. no.

If you were to buy a headlight lens, and you received that in the mail, would you be angry? I would. I'm not trying to be a downer, I'm just saying. It's a hell of an improvement, but still not "good".

Doesn't last that long, even with good compounds after extensive wetsanding yellows again over time. Best is to remove all the factory clear and oxidation then clear with a high quality clearcoat.

Another forum I'm on a guy is using packs of 'headlight restoration' kits from AutoZone to 'buff' the shine back on his carbon fiber hood... all by hand LOL.

My buddies Civic, wetsanded till it was consistently dull w/ no shading with 400 then worked to 2000 and buffed. Look bad again, not quite as bad as they were, but it's only been 2 years.

Before of left hand and after of both.

Almost all of these drill attachment kits will do the job. Just be careful not to apply pressure. The heat along with the pressure can cause small cracks.

You can prevent your headlights from hazing by applying a sealant or wax.

It dosent look all that bad. This is what companys get for cheping there way out of headlights and using plastic insted of glass. My sebring and my 300M both are having thos problem. I tried a few things on the 300M but it has some scaling on the inside so im not going to rip appart a headlight just to remove it from the inside. The sebring..... is bad.

I didn't buy the kit, but I did get the Plastix X from Mequiars. It got alot more clear then the OPs 'detail' and I didn't use a buffer, I did it by hand.

I got the plasticx for my neon. Worked decently well... well enough to make the headlight not an eyesore for long enough to sell the car. lol
