delaware beach scenic detour??

So I'm driving to the delaware beach area from Wilmington this afternoon...I'm on no sort of schedule and I'm looking for a nice scenic detour that's not too out of the way. I know, I know, there's nothing to see in Delaware. but any ideas other than just taking boring old Route 1?

i ended up taking 9 from middletown all the way until it ended and got back on 1. i must say i'm in love, this road had everything from good looking girls yelling "nice car" to cruising with street bikes to even a little bird watching...definitely recommended. next time i suppose i'll try 5.

where the connection to 5 from 1? We usually take 1 to 113 to get to Dagsboro but I'm always down to try new ways.

It's right across from that lone liquor store on 1.

I'm going to try 5 next trip..but I absolutely loved 9 having a convertiblle..it put me right through the marshes only a few feet above them on perfectly flat empty country roads with plenty of fun curves as he said
