I've got what look like HID headlights.
They're actually "Blazer" fog lights I molded into my track plastics. I'm using the 35w DDM kit with 5k bulbs. Light output is superb.
I'll have to get some night shots here shortly.

I am running 35 watt, 4300K, bi-xenon (hi-low) HID's on my Interceptor:

Kinda hard to tell there since it's a blurry shot, but they are exponentially better than my halogens were. They are mounted in a halogen housing (factory), but they have a nice cutoff so they aren't blinding/glaring much at all. I would not recommend running them if your lens is fluted - that'll scatter light everywhere. Projector or clear lens is your best bet.

BTW: I too can vouch for the Blazer fogs. They are GREAT! Make sure you get the clear lens ones, though! I got a pair off of eBay for $50 shipped. Hard to find but they are out there. Ran 'em on my old Camaro Z28 to match my HID/projector setup for my headlights.

Please do not run HID's without projectors. People who do that are retarded.

If you've got E-codes or glare shields with a nice cut-off it's not bad ;-) But yes, projectors are the way to go. And not just any projector... an HID specific projector with the rest of the OEM components (ballasts/ignitors, wiring, capsules, etc). Basically, it's the idiots who run the HID's in reflector housings that have fluted lenses, non-E-code lenses, and also the ones who can't seem to aim a headlight to save their LIFE! Not meaning to be a dick but it's mostly the riced out Honda's/Acura's that do this as well as a lot of big lifted trucks.

All 3 of my vehicles run 4300K HID kits. The Silverado has 55w with projectors. The Wrangler has 35w headlights & 55w off-road lights. The headlights are bi-xenon E-codes with glare shields. The bike is, as stated, bi-xenon 35w with glare shields as well.

My headlight aren't fluted, just not that good in output. Does the glare shield fit a certain type of bulb only? Motorcycle uses a H11 bulb.

The glare shields I use are for H4 capsules. That's typically all I've found.
