Who's coming to Hill climb.

We going to July 9-11 to Okemo hill climb
Anyone want to come? i think for non Rally cars is $145 for both day. Friday inspection. And if im right you can run your stock car too, just you need a helmet. Its a lots of fun, much more then a track , plus they time your runs. So for set up and practice is great!

here is the links for the events if someone interested.

I just went to spectate at the Weatherly Hillclimb, they're such cool events to go to.
I know for the PA Hillclimb events you need a rollcage and an SCCA license so its not as easy to get into, but maybe the race you're attending is set up differently?

Their rules say you need a rollbar if you're faster than some predetermined times. Just like drag racing. Dumb.

I sure as hell wouldn't go anywhere near a hill climb without some sort of roll over protection, but if someone else wants to why not?

Liability, bad rap for the event if someone has a roll over and dies, endless reasons. Someone dieing is never a good look for motorpsorts, especially at the grass roots level. At least you realize its stupid to do it.

My dad and I went up there on a weekend a couple months ago for fun. I chased him up the course in the STi and him in his Z4. Turn 3 really is "The Wall" scared the crap out of me when I came up to it.

My dad said when he was younger he saw a Corvette come into one of the turns to hot and launch into the trees. He said the car never hit the ground...it got stuck up in the trees.

im running so as my wife with the NASA competitor license, not SCCA. But of course its good for every where. Next year i will get my RA license for Unlimited AWD turbo , if i can run they event. Its all about money. I do not need a SCCA license as far as i know what im doing.
I do racing a long time ago so with my papers , i do not really know what you need to get the first competitor license. I think usually / based on my country laws/ you start with the 2 wheel drive N/A car.
After a required points , by number of races you finished or the rank + the number of races , you can get a higher class license. SO i think you can not start with an STI when you start racing. I might be wrong since US has a different laws altogether.

That is what you guys have to look into. But i wouldn't be scared to get a license anyway these days. The economy is bad and they need business...
SO even if you have a stock car i think they might have some ideas for you. Just give them a call. They are very nice people , dont be afraid to talk to them

The Mt. Okemo Hillclimb is put on by the Killington Sports Car Club, not SCCA. Therefore the rules are different. Check out this link for more information: http://www.hillclimb.org/events/okemo/okemo_info.pdf

My parents live at the top of the Weatherly Hillclimb. I've been involved with it, and several cars that ran the local SCCA hillclimbs for years. I am pretty familiar with them and their rules. I do know one person who goes up to Okemo and runs that hill. What was said earlier is right, you do not need a cage or bar in the car, but they have a time set that if you go faster than it you get told about it, and then if you do it again you are done. What my friend has told me is that there are a handful of cars that just go flying up the hill, but then let off towards the top to go slower.

One of the other interesting things of Okemo, vs SCCA hillclimbs, is that you can take passengers. Not exactly sure on the ruling for it, but I do know you can take others along to help, or maybe just see it.

Check out this video, very fast car that when you saw it you would never expect it; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq3hqtfIUEA
