UMI Performance's King of the Mountain was this past weekend. I went up with my nationals codriver, Ryan. We were laughing and having a great time the entire event. It helps doing "well" with my knife to a gun fight, but truly I did not have a negative experience and the entire time we were having fun and socializing.

Stuff like the parade laps obviously can't really happen at an SCCA event but the entire event was just "fun" and there's no "forced fun" happening. I met a ton of new people and put faces to names I've known for a long time and that's really fun. I met someone I've only known from Gridlife iRacers and their first words to me were "wow, you're a lot taller than I expected" and Ryan was like "man is this a tinder date?!?"

I felt *really* lucky to have the car just flat out work right from the jump. From my baseline all we did was loosen it up a smidgen (which I had kind of expected based on recent local testing) and tried other more aggressive things that we just put back to normal. That really meant I could attack from the jump and drive confidently. I'm mildly annoyed with myself for coning away 2nd in Late Model during qualifying but thrilled with the pace.

Shootout was a freaking blast, I really wish I got to run that course more. I made a mistake on my "round of 6" and blew ~4 tenths or so but wouldn't have been enough for JV, Sam, or Ian, but still stoked to finish 4th!

My Friday fastest:

My Saturday fastest (dirty, camera card issues on fast clean run, but whatever. It was just a hair slower everywhere and the cones I hit were "you dumbass why did you do that?"):

and my fastest Shootout run:

How has heat management been with the SC during events?

Seemingly a total non-issue. ~120F highs on the intake air temps (after a completed autocross run) on ~90 degree days and oil and coolant temps are within a couple of degrees F of what they were before. It's been remarkably simple!

Those are incredible IATs after a run! This s/c setup honestly makes the BRZ that much more of a viable option for an affordable do it all fun car.

Yeah, it's truly incredible how nice of a package Harrop put together. Pricey, sure, but *well* worth it!

Competed in the Philly region SCCA Al Holbert Memorial this past weekend. Car was untouched from KOTM other than swapping tires to my street tires to drive to work on the in between. I had a guest codriver, DJ Alessandrini, who I always end up competing with in iRacing and he is fresh off of winning an SCCA National Championship in D Street at Solo Nationals. He's no slouch! We had a great time comparing data and working on testing some setup stuff and working on driving stuff as well. I ended up narrowly taking the win both days, solid result from both of us though!

My 2nd fastest from day 1 (camera wasn't charging and it died for my fastest run, oops):

A couple of videos of outside, I love how the car sounds and you can see how it just floats over the big bumps on this site!

I've been working on some aero improvements recently. I added some splitter tunnels/diffusers and built a rear wing to get more adjustment and balance out the front aero. I'm running a really low angle of attack on the wing for now until I can do some testing.

The wing is also 3D printed, two aluminum spars, and some CF sheet for end plates.

Thanks Dave! It looks absurd and I love it, haha.

Decided to try a CF skin on the wing to add stiffness and take the "heavy" aluminum spars out of the wing. The first attempt *almost* worked great... Vacuum bag failure.

Attempt number two was better, not 100% perfect but plenty good enough. Very stiff and light! Clear coated it for protection from the elements and drove it to work today.

If you're cold, they're cold, bring them inside! I wanted the paint to cure in higher temps, haha.

Revalved my rear shocks yesterday. Fun making small changes that affect ride quality and performance

Finally got to do an autocross on Sunday. Since last event I've revalved the rear shocks a few times to dial in ride quality and added a bunch more downforce with splitter tunnels designed in part with a friend of mine that used to do aero for the Pratt & Miller Corvette racing team and then I designed and built a rear wing.

The car is freaking awesome

Here's my fastest clean run:

and my fastest dirty run... where I tagged the very last cone on course with my rear mud flap.

daaaang shock dyno is a huge tooling upgrade!! My buddy bought one to start revalving E30 Billys since they're horrible and shortly after bilstein started crimping their inserts so they weren't rebuildable.

That's almost as useful for making friends as a pickup truck haha
