Definitely not aiming for the head. Just worked out that way. He isn't a bad shot, but I do not think he could pull off a head shot on a trotting doe. He was in a tree stand, the doe was in the field, caught wind that something wasn't right and started to trot away. I told him to go for a spine shot in that situation. I think with the excitement, adrenalin, etc going, he got the the rifle up, saw brown in the scope and shot. Worked out to be a head shot
well that and that fact that the wagon had brain matter and blood frozen to the roof after the drive back to the cabin. All in all, its a good time. We were freezing out asses off that day, and it ended in a clean shot. He should net about 50-60 lbs of meat out of the deal. Not too shabby!
