i wonder what really happened. we'll probably never know the full story. A cop doesn't just do something like that in front of that many people for no reason at all.

just imagine all the **** that goes down and isnt caught on video. cops are no more trust worthy than anyone else. i hate how their word is taken more seriously in court than a defendant's. and i bet if that guy went to court for whatever the cop charged him with, the cop would never have been disciplined if it wasnt caught on video.

im gonna start walking around with a video camera strapped to my dome

the cop says that the rider swerved into him, but as you can see with no side-step the cop was able to shoulder the cyclist from the right side. if he swerved towards him wouldnt the officer have to step back to get beside him?

i agree, the cop appeared to go after the guy unprovoked. But we don't know what happened before the video was on them... so there is no reason to get riled up. We don't know the full story, and I doubt neither does most of the people who witnessed this.

For all we know, the rider is the cops daughter's ex who used to beat her...

I would have done the same thing if that was the case... but we do not know what the case really is. So there is no point in getting riled up.

We all know the media blows **** out of proportion, miss represents stories, leaves out facts, etc.

how was it unprofessional? we don't know why he did it... we don't know what the cyclist had done to get tackled like that. thats the whole point. people are crying foul and we don't know why any of this happened.

If the tackle was unprovoked, then yes it was unprofessional.

im with pearl. the situation doesnt matter, the officer was being seriously unprofessional and should be on desk duty until a full investigation is complete.
