lock your doors...

So my parents leave their cars unlocked from time to time in the driveway. And it has never been a problem in the past being that we live in a secluded and relatively safe area. There is a 3 car garage but 8 cars so there are always a few in the driveway. This morning my mom wakes up around 5am and walks outside to get her purse out of the car to find everything dumped on the floor and $400 cash missing from her wallet, two ipods missing, ipod docking station missing, and miscellanious other things. One of my brothers had $30 missing from his car and another Ipod. There are spotlights on every corner of the house but the thieves must have felt they were safe near the garage. My car and my gf's car were in the front of the house on the driveway under a spotlight but were not touched since there are about 30 plus windows facing them plus the spotlight.

I know that it was probably not just a random theft since not many people know there is a house back there or that there would be cars in the driveway since you can't even see the driveway from the road.

Anyways I ordered 4 security cameras today w/ recording equipment so I am ready to nab these SOB's!!!

That's the reason I try not leave valuable things in my car and always lock my doors. That does suck nonetheless.

WTF? No offense to your mom and everything, but that was just asking for it. Not leaving her purse, Ipods, docks, etc in the car overnight locked or unlocked is just common sense...

i dont like your new avatar. Im used to the goat, it was fitting and helped me quickly identify your posts. Either way, you are correct. I have a hard time believing that they really left that much stuff in their car. None of that would be covered would it? Wouldnt it be under the category of negligence?

A) don't knock the warhammer goblin.

B) I'm sure there is a stupidity clause somewhere in their insurance.

C) its not the 4th anymore... so why are the assholes in my neighborhood shooting off fire works while I'm trying to work...

Most auto insurance policies won't cover for things you leave in your car...whether it was left stupidly or not.

the $400 being carried around isn't the point

the point is leaving that money in an unlocked car

I comlpetely agree with you guys my mom ****ed up by leaving that **** in the car, but thats water under the bridge now they caught the ****er that did it. The guy was 45 years old and escaped a halfway house that he was staying in, stole his brothers car and started randomly robbing houses and cars. They found out it was him after he crashed into several cars and they found the ipods and cash.
