put the stock bov back on
clutch seems to engage smoother, engine feels smoother, and no more smell that i can detect....hella weird

Does it make a difference that I didnt have the BOV mounted right on the TB inlet pipe but on a seperate hose about 7 inches away from it?? I know you said running rich, but I dont know how it could run so rich to burn oil...or if it even could

Ok.....stop everything you are doing and shelve any ideas you have planned.
Is the car back to stock? Now, I'm gonna assume that you replaced the stock part because of stories of possible leakage. How did you know that yours was leaking? From what I read, you don't have any boost gauge for your turbo. Until you get and install the boost gauge, do not mod the car.

FYI...
Next time you pop your hood, and see/smell oil burning with a cloud of smoke from your engine bay... it just means that oil somehow got onto a hot part of your exhaust and is burning off. If you happened to JUST do an oil change, there is a good chance that its just excess oil that got spilled while doing the change (assuming you didnt forget to tighten your filter or drain bolt). A bov has nothing to do with this.

And install a boost gauge first of all - seriously, it isn't that hard. If you can solder you can install a boost gauge. When you buy it you get the gauge with wires out the back and vacuum line. You can either do 1 of two things when tapping into the car for power. Either solder it into a 12v constant line (like ignition) or do what lagos showed me how to do and run the wire into the fuse box and pin it down with a fuse. You get ease of use and the boost gauge is essentially fused at that point. |
