Need Advice ASAP

I sold my turbo to a guy on Nasioc. Sent it out on Monday packaged beautifully with peanuts and even threw in a few t-shirt for him. The package arrived to him on Wednesday and he left me +1 feed back.

He just now (Saturday 9:00) sent me a PM saying...
"Hey. I just opened the package and i think you sent me the wrong parts. All i got was about 10 metal flange looking things. Can you check to see what's up?"

I sent the turbo out. I have the package weight and a tracking number. I did get like $600 worth of insurance on it if some how that will help. Should I make a post first in the scammer section? Should I notify Paypal so I don't get ****ed?

This sucks. Everybody knows me on here and can vouch for me. I have 11 positive and 0 negative seller rating on Nasioc and never had a problem.

Contact UPS or whatever, file a claim through them. They are the ones responsible and will have to pay for the mess up if it is what he says it is. Also, have him send you a pic of what was in the box. Make sure when you file the claim you tell people what kind of tape you used, etc etc etc.

When you get the pics, take a look and see if it was wrapped by different tape, or looks like it was opened. Honestly, sounds to me like someone stole the turbo and then threw the metal pieces in as weights so that the box wouldn't get flagged.

yeah, i'd have him take some photos of the box and the items within, including packing materials, written address, etc... you are the one in control here... if he does take it to a paypal investigation they will side in your favor because all you ahve to do is prove that you sent him something via a tracking number. so if you know you did what you needed, then dont be worried, just follow up appropriately and try to get to the bottom of all of this and figure out if this dude is a scammer or if there was some foul play in transit.
i would just deal with the guy directly for now to try to get things figured out, only escalate things if you have to. keep us updated and good luck...

Just dont stress too much about it... I just want to make sure you knwo that you dont have to do anything to 'protect' yourself... the money he paid you is yours to keep... although I would withdraw it from your paypal acct. immediately if you havent already. As long as you have a tracking number ot show that you sent a package to this guy, paypal will not side with him if he opens a dispute. I know the hard way from being on the wrong end of that once or twice.

Just talk to him, figure out what he's trying to do right now, and see how cooprerative he is as far as getting you photos and info about the package. You will probably both decide that you want to make a claim to UPS and then you can begin that process.
The fact of the matter is that you're the one in the drivers seat here so either he's cooperative with you or he's SOL...

Yup. Bottom line is, if he's telling the truth his best move would be a UPS claim. That way, you will keep your money and he will get his back. You however do not and will never owe him anything. He has options to get his returns, he needs to take them and going through you to get his money is not one.

Good luck with it bud. If you can't tell by my advice, I've been through it a few times now. Both the recieving and sending end, damn UPS.
