I have DirecTV and I've never had a problem with them whatsoever. DirecTV does now have on demand too as well. I can't stand Comcast's customer service plus they constantly have issues around here. Not to mention that their HD channels don't impress me. If it was between Comcast and DirecTV I'd go with DirecTV.

DirectTv FTW. It does offer some of the on-demand stuff, and it DOES have more HD channels then Comcast. Never had an issue with service, the installers were awesome as hell and real professional, and its easier then nuts to use.

direct tv.. especially for the hd programming. comcast is junk especially their poor excuse of hd content that gets broadcasted! don't give those bastards any more money. if their was a faster internet option for me at a reasonable price they would have been cut off a while ago.

and just so no one replies for the x4 time about fios, i cant get it

I'm gonna eat it if I can't get FiOS and get direct tv and comcast internet... only an extra $30 or so. I'm not even that big of a tv watcher, its that I don't want comcast for tv and I'd take another internet provider if there was one...

i just moved into my new house...i'm a huge hockey fan so I got comcast just because I'd hang myself if I couldn't watch the flyers. lol That alone was enough for me to choose comcast. Plus I have a young son and we get all his show on demand and stuff, so it works out well for everyone.

comcast... are you serious?

ok, so after dealing w/ the bull**** online... I called them today...

I was told them I wanted the "double play w/ internet and cable"... reply "we're sorry, you can only order that online"

me, "well asshole (ok I didn't say asshole)... I tried and was told I needed to call when I got to checkout..."

idiot on phone, "oh... hold on please" 2-3 minutes later, "ok, that'll be $66/a month and $60 installation"

me, "installation was only $30 online"

her, "well, you're being charged for two installations"

me, "*crickets*"

her, "you're being charged for the internet AND cable to be installed"

me, "*crickets*"... then I hung up the phone.

I'm going into the local office, which happens to be across the street from my place, tomorrow and bitching about the horrible service.

Right now, I'm calling direct tv to be sure that I can get them due to the location of the apartment facing east...

i just had the triple play isntalled by comcast last week (phone, internet and 1 cable box) and they charges me a total of $60 in on-time activation/install fees. And if im not mistaken, $30 of it was for the phone activation, which you're not getting. Sounds like they didnt have a clue. My experience with them was great. They gave me no hassle and my install guy went way beyond his call to make sure my shyt worked right and looked neat. I've seen some sloppy ass cable line installs.

just because its free doesn't make it good...

but hook me up lol.

its going to take some serious **** for comcast to win me as a customer...

I need internet though, and direct tv just purchased wild blue, who does satellite broadband, and they won't have deals on that until saturday...

I prefer direct tv over comcast purely for the service... comcast is utter **** and incredibly unhelpful and their sales people are morons...

I'm a fan of the flyers and eagles, but I don't catch every game so its no big deal. I don't use on demand all that often...

but I'll get it through direct tv w/ the uber hd dvr package and a phone line

comcast is evil I've had direct tv for years its cheaper (1 rate increase in 4 years with them comcast raises rates every yer) and more reliable than comcast ever was when I had comcast service would go out at least once a week. Comcast likes to charge for "installation" I didn't know installation was plugging the cable into the wall $75 for that

Free is always good when you dont have to pay for any channels, internet or phone. Yes the people in the office buildings dont really help you out, but i dont deal with them so it doesnt effect me.
